THE TARSHISH AUDIT:
Selfishness and Comfort
- Where am I avoiding God’s call because it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable
- Am I more concerned about my goals, my lifestyle, or even my family, rather than obeying God’s word?
- Where am I “saving my life” for my sake, instead of losing it for Christ’s sake?
Money and Materialism
- Am I letting financial security or the desire for possessions be the ruler of my life more than God’s rule?
- When I tithe, am I asking: How much of my money should I give to God this month? Or am I asking: How much of God’s money should I keep this month?
- Do I measure success by income and status instead of obedience and
Pride and Entitlement
- Where am I fighting against God’s will in my life?
- Do I follow Jesus – no questions asked – or do I debate Jesus on the application of his teachings and will in my life?
- Is peace reigning in my life as someone fully surrendered to God’s will – or am I furiously fighting for my own dreams, desires, and will?
